The Annual Absence
by

on Mon 14 Jul 2008 12:34 PM CDT
I will be leaving tomorrow for the Natural Products Association's annual convention, and will be gone for about a week. Considering my aversion to flying, it will surprise noone that I will be driving, so my beautiful Camaro (VTMN LDY) will be on the road again - watch out for us, and wave if you see me!

A little beauty for your day ..

I am very proud of this Beauty. I cherished it through the winter when it was nothing but leaves, and now look at its burst of splendor. I photographed it by the little pond at the end of our garden.

Passing Gas
by
vtmnldy
on Mon 24 Mar 2008 09:51 AM CDT
This will teach me to write a newsletter when I am in a hurry, and without checking the facts - though in my defense, I still think it is valid and useful information!!
Many people wrote in to keep me honest, telling me that snopes.com refutes the info, and this was my reply:
Keeping me honest, I see!
The link to where to buy gas was written some time ago, and speaks of funding bin Laden: I am more concerned about the Saudi Royal family: if they were in truth our allies, they would feel our pain and influence OPEC to lighten up, don't you think? As it is, they DO support schools, or madrassas, that teach fundamentalist Islam and are the breeding grounds for future terrorists - so I do not wish to send them any more of my money than I have to.
It ends by saying that they have not found any gas at $3.00 a gallon - well, if only it were still that low!
As for the link about pumping the gas: basically, my interpretation of what they say is that all the facts are true, but the gain is slight- I am all for being as efficient as possible at all times! Even the big truckers are slowing down, though all they gain is 1 mile per gallon! A million minimals adds up to something - remember the Eddie Murphy movie, where he had the Bank computer redirect all the fractions of dollars that resulted from every day transactions, and ended up rich? As for who wrote it - somewhat irrelevant, if it is useful information.
Thanks for being in touch. Yours for cars that run on air,
Lynn

Safely back ...
by

on Thu 26 Jul 2007 10:18 AM CDT
and thank you, to all of you who waved and honked when you saw me: it was fun to be in strange places and realize I had friends there.
I drove many, many hours on Tuesday and arrived tired but pleased to be home. Stay tuned over the next weeks for the information and new products I brought back with me.

Study Break
by

on Sun 15 Jul 2007 09:08 AM CDT
July is the month when the Natural Products Association has its big Convention, so I will be gone for about 10 days, returning around the 25th. I do not like to fly, since for some reason I always become ill when I do - so the Great Red Camaro will be on the road again. I am taking my 12 year old grandson with me, and we hope to have some good times on the way.
This is when I keep up with new developments in alternative health, and see what is new on the market.
I will try to keep up with my personal mail while I am gone, and of course the business will hum along as usual without me with my husband in charge. Talk to you when I get back!
P.S once again I am struck by the irony of the fact that my spellchecker not only does not recognize the word "Camaro", but suggests I replace it with Camry!!

My granddaughter and I are off to Tempe, Arizona today Monday May 14th, to attend the d'Adamo Conference "Metabolically Profiling the Individual". Well, more accurately, I will attend, she will swim and lie out!

So, the vtmn ldy-mobile will be on the road again. Wave if you see us. I will be back next week, so would appreciate your holding any complex questions until I return though I will have my computer with me.

The Annual Trek
by
vtmnldy
on Sun 04 Mar 2007 01:30 PM CST
I will be leaving Monday for the annual Natural Foods Convention in Anaheim California. Since I am in Illinois, it will probably be considered eccentric (to say the least) that I choose to drive: but flying inevitably makes me ill. This is its yearly outing for my beautiful red car.
In any event, I will try to answer your e-mails while I am gone, but there will be a day or two here and there when I will be out of touch, so I beg your indulgence. I will be back the 17th of March.
Cindy, Clay, Donna and Kayla will be taking good care of you while I am gone!
Honk if you see me.....

New Store
by
vtmnldy
on Mon 22 Jan 2007 09:06 AM CST
We have moved - thank goodness it is over. With the best will in the world, I know we made some errors during the move, and fell from our usual stellar standards. I hope we are forgiven, and all is now organized again.

We are in an old J.C. Penney's bullding on the square in Macomb Illinois, opposite our beautiful courthouse. One day, we will restore the old hardwood floors and the original tin ceiling, but for now, while we are still waiting for some of our new inventory - here we are.

For the dog lovers among you - here is my pack in our latest snow!

The Ice-man cometh
by

on Mon 15 Jan 2007 08:36 AM CST
While I am grateful that we are far better off than some, since we still have power, our area is one solid sheet of ice: I thought those of you basking in more temperate climes (between hurricanes, of course!) might enjoy this picture taken from my back door.
I I wish I had been holding the camera earlier, when my two huge Irish Wolfies went involuntarily skating!!

Our best Wishes for 2007
by

on Mon 01 Jan 2007 08:28 PM CST
A couple of days of relative silence can be explained by the fact that we have been moving our physical store, and I am exhausted! We will have the phones back up tomorrow, Wednesday.
All the very best for a heathy and prosperous 2007 to all our dear friends and customers.

Our Winter Guest
by
vtmnldy
on Sun 26 Nov 2006 08:31 AM CST
We have a very special young lady staying with us for the winter months, O'Brandon's C'est Cassandra, known to her friends as Cassie.
My granddaughter Rosalyn and I own half of her, and are socializing her prior to showing her in the Spring. She is so sweet and pretty - and a mere titch at 85 lbs, compared to my big boy Fitzroy, who weighs in at 160 lbs at 20 months!
By the way, here is a new idea I hope you never need - a canine (K9) Amber Alert. Both to post animals you find, and to list a missing animal:

That Time of Year Again
by
vtmnldy
on Tue 03 Oct 2006 09:28 AM CDT
I will be gone from today (Tuesday Oct 3rd) until next Monday to the annual East Coast Convention. There may be some delays in answering personal questions during that time, but I promise I will catch up with everyone when I get back.
I will again be driving my prized bright red Camaro with the VTMNLDY plates, so if you see me - Honk!
On the IRONY front - I just ran spell check on this entry, and the program does not recognize my American car, "Camaro" as a word: it suggests I replace it with "Camry ".
I feel obliged to point out that although it looks like an extravagant muscle car, it cruises at 1500 revs at 70 MPH, and gets a whopping 27 - 29 miles to the gallon on the highway.
Of course, in those weird Yankee States to the East of me - can you believe the speed limit on the Interstates is sometimes 50?? Sigh! Much self-restraint required.

Time out
by
vtmnldy
on Mon 21 Aug 2006 10:31 AM CDT
My apologies for the delay in replying to some of your questions over the past few days - I took my two Irish Wolfhounds to a dog show. They were up against some more mature dogs, so they didn't win this time, but learned a lot! Next time!
Believe it or not, they are still considered puppies at 16 months. More growing to do.
Back now, and pretty much caught up. If I missed answering something, please forgive me, and try again.
