| There appears to be no end to the consequences of overindulgence and lack of moderation. I recall, as a child in post-war England, my Mother would occasionally allow me to indulge in a Coca Cola. This rare treat sent me (I was an imaginative child!) to her liquor cabinet, where I would pick out one of her tiny glasses saved for such delicacies as Grand Marnier or Cointreau, and drink it in sips from that.
Contrast that with the occasional client who comes to see me, and tells me they have soda for BREAKFAST - and X many more during the day, where X equals some number inconceivable to me! In the past, all I have been able to point to is the ill effect of so much sugar and/or the possible consequences of artificial sweeteners, and the effect of phosphates on mineral balance. But NOW - well, read the study on sodas and gullet cancer for your self. |
