View Article  Currying favor - the health value of turmeric

I have been recommending turmeric as an anti-inflammatory for many years, but as time goes by, more and more good things are being discovered about this lowly ingredient of curry powder.

The best known active part of turmeric is CURCUMIN, and it is used not only as a stand-alone remedy, but in many combinations. Intrigued by the fact that levels of certain cancers were very low among the population that habitually eats curry, researchers are investigating to see whether turmeric and/or a component may be important not only prophylactically, but as an adjunct in tumor shrinkage in existing cancers.

View Article  More broccoli marvels

The wondrous effect broccoli can have on cancer cells has been in the news frequently these past years;  now scientists have determined that, in vitro at least, a substance in the vegetable called sulforophane has anti-inflammatory activity, controllling the cox-2 enzyme .

Read a report here

Remember though, as is often the case, excessive heat destroys the compound.  Crushing the broccoli seems to have the most effect, so juicing it is good.

Consider also the Sulforophane supplement called BROCCOMAX:  one of those a day contains 30 mg of SGS (sulforophane glucosinolate)

Italian scientists conclude that aspartame is a "multipotential carcinogen"

P.S the manufacturer says it's not true
