I feel I need to explain once again that pretty well every spare moment I have right now is taken up working on the new (improved) web site, hence the paucity of entries here.

Those of you who get my newsletter are familiar with my slogan "there is a Middle Way between the extremes of abstinence and excess".  Now comes more proof that even healthy diets require moderation!!  If you have been following a low carbohydrate diet, be aware that we were designed to take in a certain amount of healthy grains, both for the fiber and for the nutrients they contain.

It now appears that extreme high protein diets lead (surprise) to high uric acid in the body, and there fore - GOUT. An alarming number of comparatively young (to be suffering from gout) people are turning up with the symptoms.  At the very least, if you are on an Atkins type diet, protect yourself by  supplementing  your regimen with the missing nutrients.  Consider a powdered green food, or a fruit and green food tablet.   It might also be good policy to use a Digestive Enzyme designed for that type of diet.
