As an ex-patriot Briton, I am delighted to learn that Her Majesty has chosen a Doctor with Alternative leanings as her new Royal Physician. Many of the Royal family have chosen homeopathic and alternative treatments in the past, but this is a new official level of approval.

As a young woman I led an exciting life, travelling all over the world - Asia, South and Central America, Eastern Europe. I had a simple strategy for avoiding that universal villain, the upset stomach, even though I ate pretty indiscriminately from sources that would raise even MY eyebrows now! And that was simply never to eat anything without an accompanying selection of hot pepper.
Even now, it is my habit to put a pinch of cayenne pepper in most of the dishes I make. Now comes a series of studies that show the active ingredient in hot peppers, capsaicin, is successful in controlling many health problems that have their origins in inflammation. Read about it here. I wish I could indulge my urge to go in and fix their spelling etc, but alas! February 16, 2004

Another blow struck for moderation! Dr. Atkins would I am sure be amused by this, but I doubt the Corporate entity now in charge will find it funny.
Read about it here: Revenge of the high carb diet.
