According to the language of H.R. 3156, a supplement should be removed from the market if there is any chance of an alleged risk unless "sufficient" health benefits are proved to the FDA’s satisfaction. 

This bill is unacceptable and if allowed to progress will severely undermine your health rights.  Take action today!

Over the years, murmurs of problems attached to the use of aspartame have grown to a steady roar - an underground roar, to be sure, though some of the more visionary amongst us have had no doubts!

Now comes a study which confirms that opinion.

First they get diabetes, then they get diabetes.

A new complication for type 1 diabetic children, where the disease shows both sides of its face.

They're calling it "Diabesity

Take a pill - any pill - and get exactly the same results as you get with expensive anti-depressants.  Yes, that is correct:  the results with placebo differ only marginally from the results with SSRI's.

The authors of the study emphasize that other approaches to depression need to be developed, and also that people will need to be "de-briefed"from their misplaced expectations of help and relief - particularly where major depression is involved.

As mentioned in my previous post, the shape of the threat is still so amorphous that mounting a defense against it is difficult.

Additionally, our trade organization , NNFA, has legal representation with a firm whose Geneva and Brussels offices were involved with the genesis of Codex.  Talking to them today, I was assured that neither the Codex developments, nor the CAFTA treaty, could possibly take precedence over DSHEA, the US law which protects our rights.

Big pharma versus everybody

My newsletter this month is pre-occupied with the sneaky back door threat to our Health Freedoms which  may be creeping up on us:  this kind of subtle attack is so difficult to fight, because it is hard to rally people behind  a vaguely perceived cause.

I say this with a straight face:  if a panel of unbiased experts decides that previously determined parameters for a disease are too liberal -  could it be that the pharmaceutical companies might find themselves with new customers?
