I was away when the Wall Street Journal  article came out, or I would have posted my comments earlier. As it is, at this late stage I don't think I can do better than to share with you Dr. Laibow's analysis.

Do pay particular attention to the  demolishing of the "Vitamin A causes hip fractures" theory put forward by the article;  incredibly, it was based on simply ASKING women what they ate, and then ESTIMATING their Vitamin A intake.  Contrast that with studies measuring the blood levels of Vitamin A, which found a protective effect against osteoporosis.

This is the kind of smear campaign that doesn't even deserve to be called "Science".

"THE figures are mind-boggling. Nearly 4 million Americans, most of them children and young adults, are being prescribed amphetamine-like stimulants to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Up to a million more may be taking the drugs illegally."

That is the first paragraph of this analysis of the over-use of drugs in our children.  Funnily enough, when they mention "Alternatives", they are not talking about nutrients. Even so, it is worth reading just to see the scope of the problem and get a taste of the power of the pharmaceutical industry.
